Hey guys,

I’ve been away from the hobby for quite some time(10 years) but am eager to get back into it. I purchased a 60g breeder as it fits my space perfect and it’s a big enough platform to have some fun with it.

Much has changed in the past 10 years that I’m looking for some advice on a few things.

SUMP- planning on a 40 breeder with a Fuji baffle kit.

Overflow- this is where I’m struggling, do I go with a modular marine 1200gph or eshopps prodigy L, rated for 900gph??

PUMP- I’ve heard pretty good things about jebao, Ideally I’d like 2 return pumps. Would 2 of the MDP-2500 be suitable? They’re rated for a max flow of 660gph, would that be enough for me or should I size them both up to the MDP-3500 at max of 924gph?

Lights- I’m heavily debating on two, NP K7 PRO V3 lights.

With Black Friday approaching and sales coming up, I’d like to start purchasing a majority of my equipment to prepare.

Any and all suggestions regarding pump sizing and overflow options are appreciated. I’m excited to get back into the hobby.

While two pumps in refugium are good for reliability; excessive flow thru refugium is not necessary. Also, two drains to sump in case snails plug up primary drain.

What are you using for circulation in display tank?

DO YOU THINK TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS ARE MORE HELPFUL OR HURTFUL TO REEFING?
