Great craftmanhip, i thing a dry compartment should be a standard for stand. Where will you store power bricks?

Unfortunately I didn’t calculate for the plugs and how far they stick out when plugged in. So I had to mount the power bar in the sump area behind the switch panel.

Trying to figure out which way looks best. Help me out.

Good looking rock - I’d go with the top one. More interesting profile.

Ya that was the plan. I didn’t check prior to the build and figured 3.5” would be enough, so needless to say my power bar is in the sump compartment. Only good thing is that I have a shelf in there for my switch panel for the things I don’t run off my apex. So it fit above that.

Nice job! It’s nice to see a build that’s not 2x4’s!

Did you glue the corner pieces and the doubled up rails?

What do you think of apex setup?

I like it. It’s nice to be able to see everything on my phone and do it all when I’m out. My only complaint is that the alarms drove me nuts before I had the water in because I was constantly getting alerts and the salinity probe is off from the actual salinity using a calibrated refractometer. I even used the apex calibration fluid. There is a
Definite learning curve with the programming.

Looking great!
I always kick myself for not having jumped on the deals for the kreg jigs when I see them posted on slickdeals.

Is that screen bead for the trim on the side? I love making the best of use of materials. No need to rip expensive boards when innovative alternatives exist.

Ya it’s just pine trim. Less work ripping stuff down is too much work. The Keegan jig works miracles.

Nice, I had gone the 2x4 approach and Maybe that would have been better to go with yours. Mine is heavy as hell for a 60-Gallon cube

It’s a bit lighter but with the tank on it I don’t think it’s moving.

2x4's are over rated! Take a look at this thread. My original MarineLand 'factory' stand was veneered particleboard with a couple strategically placed 1x3s. And they didn't even use pocket screws - just a brad nailer.

I actually like to see stand builds that don't use 2x4s. Rocketman's 2x4 stand template is nice, but there are so many better ways to build a stand, and though it looks easy, a lot of people don't realize that a plywood stand is actually easier in many ways.
