All this was done over a month, what a journey… can’t wait to work towards fish and coral!

Lets see how my build comes up.. Will start slow with FOWLR.

Given my work profile, don't want to burden my wife with reef related aspects from day one. Her wiilingness to look after the aquarium when i am away itself is a big support. :slightly-smiling-face:

Nothing wrong with easing in, I'm not far off, I want to let the tank mature before I introduce anything too sensitive. Gives me a chance to learn the new equipment and get a schedule going as well.

Ha, always nice to have someone willing to help out, I get that. One of my biggest concerns is being gone for too long and finding a person I can trust and knows the signs to look for. Definitely part of my motivation to automate as much as I can for my means and options.

Yes, Automation gives you a peace of mind for sure especially when we are so much invested in this hobby, mentally also.

Unfortunately we do not have options for automating stuff like you guys have there, main reason being we do not have a distributor yet for brands like Apex, GHL etc and importing directly gets too expensive.

All the more reason to go slow.

I also have the Cade 1200 s2, I am struggling with flow rate, specially through the sump. What percentage do you have your M2 set at? I’ve tried different settings but struggling to get movement in the sump. I know I have movement but I seem to have no top water movement.

I’m just beginning my build, so appreciate any additional info you could supply. I’ve often dealt with that in sumps and have put a small powerhead in a section to break surface tension in the past.
