Calcium chloride question for dosing

Hi Randy!

I found calcium chloride at 96% ca and the other 4% =
Sodium Chloride <3% , Water <0.25% , Calcium Hydroxide <0.25% , Magnesium Chloride <0.50%
I am concerned about the 4% and if it isn't a problem how much would it take for 1g of rodi?

anhydrous calcium chloride is 96% whereas hydrous is ~70% (dow flake)

In my hunting around over a decade ago, calchlor (if that's correct) was anhydrous and worked fine just by adjusting the amount you add by adjusting the amount. a 25 pound bag (from a local redimix) was $9 or so. Dowflake was $20 for a 50#bag as was calcium chloride from tetra (I think).
Checking the assay from each there was no dangerous things especially considering the amounts we would be using.

That said, Dr. Randy's diy two part did analyze dow flake so that was the only one tested and they have changed manufacturing and now have more bromide. So one cannot say with absolute 100% certainty what is in anything else.

(psst. I would use it anyway but some consider my methods to be dangerous experimental stuff. LOL)

Lol thank you :D I think as long as there is nothing dangerous in it I will try it. Right now I am using calcium chloride from the local pool supply company. It is great but more expensive than the one I found on amazon and with less ca % as this one. This one is 24lbs for $29. Not bad
