Hey all,

I'm going on a business trip in March to Pechanga Resort in Temecula valley. I understand its like an hour from San Diega, and an hour in the other direction from San Francisco. I'm staying over a few extra days and taking my hubby with me....and he's already plotting every fish store in a 60 mile radius! :hammer:

Any suggestions on good places to visit out there?

Man I looked at the weather out there and it was like 68....compared to 20 here in Maryland. For the most part I'm jazzed except I'm completely and totally terrified of heights and close spaces....so airplanes are like my worst nightmare. Better living through chemistry I guess....I'll take enough tranquilers for an elephant. :D

San Diego, only has three that I would recommend, Aquatic Warehouse - Large collection of fish and decent collection of coral, Octopus Garden - smaller store, okay collection of corals and fish, but owner is very knowlegable (sp?) can talk for hours on a topic if you let him, Pet Kingdom - Decent store better for frags than colonies of corals.

Los Angeles, has a bunch that I have been to that are good and many more that I have never been to. OC Aquatics - Reefer run, Tong's - Great display tank but slightly high prices on coral and fish are hit or miss, Eyecandy Aquarium - Cool looking store only been to once. I'm sure others that live in that area will have some other recommendations.

One samll thing to point out, San Francisco is farther north, I think you are thinking of Los Angeles.

Also a good source to find where the stores are located is:

I agree with Josh on San Diego area. There really aren't too many fireworks here.:( (store wise)

The stores in LA are much better IMO.

Temecula is a beautiful area. Be sure to make time for a wine country tour.

what days in march? I should have the new warehouse opened up by then, so lots of cool stuff for sure, it'll be in 90278

I'll be there like the 13th - 18th. I'm such a geographic idiot (haven't travelled off the east coast much) and I just realized Sea World is in SD! Yipee. :)

Murrieta, which is right next to Temecula, has a small but decent LFS called Crystal Cove.

Aquatic Warehouse in SD is good, but can be steep in prices.

lol, good timing, my shop should be opening up on the weekend of the 17th

also, the long beach aquarium of the pacific is an amazing aquarium if you have the time

I'm booked, 10th through the 17th. So Miguel...you won't be open until the weekend of the 17th? I'll be on a plane back sat morning.

I'm staying in san diego for part of the stay, how far away is los angelos from there?

LA is about two hours from san diego, depending on traffic, it's kind of hard to tell since it varies depending on the week, traffic is really freaking weird out here...

well also up in orange county there are a couple ok ones but deffinatly check out crystal cove i used to work there and its my all time favorite fish store EVER they take the best care of their spot ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

my shop is about 9-10 minutes from LAX, like right down the street basically, almost ready for the grand opening in a few weeks!
