I am currently in the transition of making my mixed coral reef tank into a predator/aggressive tank. I have a melanurus wrasse that I was wondering if it could still be in a predator tank or should I take him out?

Thank you!

if you’re talking a predator tank with slow ambush predators then no. It will outcompete them. I have one in mine though but my fish aren’t so slow that a melanarus can outcompete them.

I’m just looking to get triggers, puffers, tangs, stonefish and frog fish
@lion king ?

The melanarus should do fine with them but I worry the triggers and wrasse will make feeding the stone and frogfish difficult.

Depending on the triggers, tangs and puffer will be fine, rethink the stonefish and angler. The stonefish and angler are going to need live food included in their diet, as well as the stonefish and some angler species will make a meal out of them. These two should be in a species tank or carefully planned ambush predator tank, it usually doesn't end well for them in community tanks. Some of the milder triggers started out small likely will be fine, the Xanthichthys genus and others on a case by case basis, just none of the notoriously aggressive ones.
