Can I scrape it off if I take it out of the tank?

I injected a couple I had with a strong solution of kalkwasser. They went & I haven't seen them since.

Be careful scraping it off. If you leave a fragment, it will grow into a new anemone. If you inadvertently tear it up and have fragments floating around, you will have multiple new anemones. Do a search, there are multiple threads on dealing with aiptasia.

It looks to be attached to a tridacna clam, if so I would not burn it. Simply remove the clam and carefully scrape off the aptasia in a seperate bucket of tank water, not in the tank. Make sure you don't scrape any fleshy parts near the foot of the clam.

Well it is on a clam shell with no clam in it and I planned on scraping it off in the sink then washing it off in so RO water.

That should do the trick right?

That should work, I usually use a Brass bristle brush to make sure I get it all then leave the rock outside for a cpl days for good measure. I recent;y had one in my sump attached to the wall & took a hand cloth to wipe it out. started an inch bellow the aptasia & covered it before I pulled up on the cloth to the top so none of it would get away.
