Can I use my apex classic as a module under my ApexEl?

I just upgraded to the El because I wanted a wireless connection and other things. I need more pH probes. I can buy the additional modules, but I would like to use the pH and the pH/Orp ports from my old classic if the two can be connected. Is that an option? How? Connect them through the ethernet ports?

the head units are completely separate. you can use any modules/probes/powerbars from the classic on the el, but not the brain
