dont know why by my candy corals are starting to disappear. I know I'm experiencing a little red bug issue but I thought it only affects sps. could that be the cause of the candy dying?

I have never heard of red bugs effecting lps. Has to be something else.

What type of fish are in with the candy cane corals? Back in the day I had a large colony of candy canes (probably around 100+ heads) that slowly started shriveling up. Eventually nothing but skeleton was left. After a watchful eye, I found my juvenile Emperor Angel had taken a liking to them... Just a thought.

Ive had the candy corals for a while with about 20+ heads. I have no angels and haven't added any fish for quite some time now. they've started shriveling up and so far I lost about 6 heads. Don't know what's going on but I'll check my params first.

tested my water and it goes like this:
salinity 1.026
ph 8.4 (acceptable but i'd like to lower but don't know how for it always seems to be at 8.4 after WC as well)
kh 8
ca 380 (in the process of raising to about 440)
mag 1275 (in the process of raising to about 1350)
params don't seem to be to far off so I don't know what could be wrong.

The only time I've had problems with mine was when my PO4 was up. Any chance they could be elevated?

Po4, possibly. I used to have issues with some algae on my SB and some GHA but I started using Phosguard and it all cleared up. Since using phosguard, I started experiencing some stn in my sps so I stopped the phosguard and since then the candy started acting up a short time later. I had no reason to believe my PO4 is elevated because im not experiencing any algae issues but I guess only a test can truly tell.

tested water with an API phosphate test kit and the results is 0.0. I know its no Hanna tester but that's the best results I can get.
