Yesterday morning while feeding my tank my Cardinal was swimming around as normal, it seems like in a blink of an eye, he just disappeared on me. My tank is covered so I know he didn’t jump out. My Nassa snails did not come up for a meal, nor did my cleaner shrimp. other tank mates are
2 Mocha Clowns
1 YWG
1 Firefish
1 Cleanershrimp
1 Candy Pistol

Is it possible that the pistol shrimp snatched him up and took him as a meal? There’s no signs of death

I doubt it was the pistol shrimp. Candy canes are usually pretty small and timid. Do you have an overflow? Maybe it fell in the overflow.

fish and inverts are amazing at playing hide and go seek...and mostly they win until they are ready to be seen again...Id give it a day or 2 and test for higher ammonia if your worried about death

He’s a goner, I saw the little black fins floating around today after moving my rocks around. I can’t find my pistol shrimp burrow though
