I use Salifert for about everything now except for nitrate, phosphate and alkalinity. Mg isnt a huge deal. If LFS says "it's normal" dont sweat it. It doesnt get depleted near as fast as the other elements. It acts as a buffer between Ca and Alk amd keeps them from binding together before corals can use them.

Glad the birds nest is opening up. It's a tough one.

My scoly was looking a little shrunken at night and didn’t seem to be as actively feeding as in the past. I have made it a point to increase pellet feeding (thank you again @living_tribunal) and he looked better today than I’ve ever seen!

To get back to the importance of lower flow for the Goni, it got moved today. After adding a powerhead for the first time in a year...(yes @ScottR you read that right!) I just wasn’t comfortable with how irritated the Goni was. Maybe it would have adjusted after a couple weeks, or maybe not...and it seemed to have its worst day today rather than getting better (it’s been almost a week now since the Acro and wavemaker went in the tank) so I moved it to the back corner in a much lower flow spot. Unfortunately it won’t be nearly as prominent from the front of the tank anymore, but hopefully I can continue to keep a fully mixed reef in my nano.

this also makes room for a new zoa rock and maybe a new addition or two as well. (@living_tribunal they will be LPS!)

I’m going to continue and peer pressure you to the right side of history.

Having sps is boring, monotonous, and flat out un-agreeable.

I personally don’t trust anyone who cares for a lot of sps.

I sometimes don’t even get notifications when people post in my own thread! As you can see I have a fan club ;)

Sorry, I’m not a fan of this thread. I find is despicable and disgusting. And of course I’m just joking. :p You’re kind of making want to try goniopora again. But I don’t think I have space. Too many torches that keep everything in check.

You mean you don’t like the way acros sway back and forth in the flow?

It comes second to watching them eat.
I love that too. I love pushing my face up to my tank and squinting my eyes. I’m sure I look super cool when I do that.

I’ve never had a torch lose a fight. Perhaps I’ll bring my torch over and see how your goni holds up
