Im not sure if this kind of thread has been started, but some of my chalices that i use to have under 2 250w 20k's are kinda bleaching out.
like you can almost see thougth them. I have moved them under some shaded areas now.
Heres alittle run down
tank-100g 48x24x20
8 bulb tek- blue+, blue+, blue+, aquablue special, actinc+,uv 75/25, actinic+, and another blue+.

t5 can be as strong and can compete with some metal halides IMO. But if they are bleaching out and you only changed the light source then its probably getting light shocked, thats what i would think. Just shade them and put them on the bottom if you can and acclimate them slowly to the new t5 lights.

I think that you shocked them as well if that is all you did. run one side of your lights for 3 h and the other side for 3 hours if you are running the tek light 8 x 54 w. That is a lot of light with new bulbs.
