Chalice ideal conditions

I've read in a magazine that chalices live at least at 70 feet deep. Ok, which should be the ideal conditions to keep them successfully. I refer specially about light and flow(high, moderate, low, etc...)

Many chalices are different and require their own special care. Some like more light than others. Many will change colors when they receive more or less light. It all depends on the chalice so if you have any in particular that you are curious about then check past history for threads or ask about their specific care.

Definitely start chalice frags or colonies at the bottom of your tank. My tank is shallow so i will shade them for a day or two at least initially also. I have found that chalices are very sensitive to high light. Wait til they get puffy before you start baking them with light. Then if you make changes make sure they are puffy after the changes. If they don't puff out anymore then you might want to take things a little slower.

the "puffy" chalice is a happy chalice. i would def agree with alphacorals.

Most of Echinophyllia, Echinopora and the like, are in the sand bed, in a 27" deep tank, under 10X54 T5HO. Some of mine are even a bit shaded. I've noticed, when mine get too much light, they quickly lose color. However, I rarely see any sweeper tentacles, on any of my Echinos. Not sure why.
