Chalice mortally wounded?

This chalice is involuntarily hosting my clowns. Does it look like they are killing off the right side? If you zoom on that purple area you will see that the mouths are a bit... Dead? Wondering if I should frag a bit and then let the clowns do what they do.

There looks to still be flesh in the discoloured areas, so not dead, just discolored

Would you do anything specifically to help the chalice along. I'm not going to move it because I don't want the clowns to go after another coral. But willing to help it survive.

I just talked to someone that does not like clowns at all, claims they host things he doesn't want them to host, and nibbles on them to show it who's boss.

I personally wouldn't frag it at this time. Chalice coral(mycedium) is pretty resilient and I'm not seeing to much damage at this point. Fragging will just cause more stress that isn't necessary in my opinion. Clowns are gonna do what they want unfortunately and I would just let it play out for now. I had a pair of clown take residence in my frogspawn before and the euphyllia got used to it after a couple months.

Would it be possible to get something that would entice them away from the Chalice? My clowns loved my toadstool, and the toadstool was never bothered by them.

They did a job on my frogspawn too. There is a bigger leather toadstool right next to them. I wish they would go there and it seems like a more reasonable host but that is not what they chose. They chose the chalice after the female had been in a hospital tank for 30 days.

My pair of clowns thought about using my raja. They spent a few weeks biting the edges like yours have. They eventually stopped and no harm came to the chalice long term. They decided against making it their home though. So long term I’m not sure

No idea why they thought about using the chalice. I have one huge goni, multiple large hammers, and a few torches that you would have thought would have been more enticing. They might eventually make their way over to one of them. But pretty much agree with everything DSC says
