Bryan were you running a daily max dose of microbacter7 along with this or just a maintenance dose
Well, that was early in my 5+ month battle of sky high phosphates. When I wrote that post I was encouraged.... Shortly after that my phos readings were .9 blinking on the hanna.... So clearly I did something wrong.
I would at that time have been doing a max daily dose, trying to add beneficial bacteria to outcompete the bad.... But in reality, with my live rock, this was probably never necessary.
Combating these issues is complex, tedious, and tiresome, with fixes all over the map.
Ultimately I've settled on using an ATS from santa monica for nutrient export, and to fix my phos I've finally decided to use a GFO reactor.
Last test 2 days ago .72. Nitrates hovering around 9-10 for a few weeks. My hope is when I get phos down to .1-.15, I can turn off the reactor and the ATS will keep up with it.
Something tells me it will be a little harder than that though :)
