This is the clam I ordered. Paid $99 for it. After purchasing I went back too see if it showed sold. Guess how surprised I was when I saw it again for $79 and it’s still for sale even though I got the email saying my clam was no longer available. He may talk a good talk but reputable he is not.John called me last Thursday and apologized. I think he said he was out of town and his workers messed up. He told me there was an issue with the clam I had ordered... I think something had nipped at it, but don't quote me on that. He said he'd have more in a couple of weeks, and I could either wait for those or get a refund. I told him that I think it would be best to just get a refund. He seemed genuinely very sorry for everything and offered to give me a refund for the clam, minus shipping, and he'd send me a clam for free (except the shipping, of course). I said yes, that would be great, and he was going to take a couple of pictures for me to pick that day or Friday.
The pictures didn't come Thursday or Friday, or the weekend, and nothing today... so I just decided not to mess with it or ask about it again. I sent him a text a few minutes ago saying, let's just go ahead with the full refund and shipping, and I'll hit him up next time I'm near a show he's at. He immediately called me apologizing again and acknowledging that he was supposed to take pictures, but there was something about the croceas still being a couple of weeks out... I don't remember verbatim, I've got a horrible memory even when something happened less than 10 minutes ago... I think I need some Prevagen yall! But I told him the same thing that I'll take the refund and just hit him up at a show.
So to sum it up... John seems like a very nice guy and if I see him at a show I really wouldn't have any problem buying from him in person. But I don't know if they are just too busy or he has too much going on or if his workers have issues but it's not working out for me with ordering online.
Not how businesses is done.chiming in here. Johns a good guy. His clams are healthy and he stands behind his stuff. Yes, his communication can be bad, but be patient, he'll get back to you. I think he's understaffed/overstretched. But his clams are like nowhere else. Been a satisfied customer for many years now.

I agree. I had a similar issue where he missed my order and then couldn't fulfill it until he made it back from Reefstock. Super nice guy. Even threw in a free clam because of the delay.
I think he just doesn't have the staff to hold down the fort when he travels to shows and such. It took a couple of extra weeks to get my clams, but I came away happy with the experience.
Better than TSA where I don't here from them, I email them, I finally get my corals two months later and not even a sorry for the mix up.
Mistakes happen. That's fine. It's how you respond to them that matters to me. My experience was that John reached out to me and made things right. I don't know if that is everyone's experience with Clam Mania. I can only speak to my own experiences.
Clearly you are mistaken one is pointing to the left and the other to the right, totally different clams ......This is the clam I ordered. Paid $99 for it.
