I have a Clarisea 5000 Gen3 installed in my 750 liter reef system for about 2 months now. I exhanged this for a RF Smartroller Medium.

The old Smartroller functioned OK after several corrections of misproduction, leakages, missing glued together parts etc, really a ****** bad product out of the box.
After my mods I found it to work nice as I wanted, but due to other mods of my sump, available space I gave the Clarisea a go.

It is running with a probably to low flow to work properly. My system is from the start with very clear water, small to none visible particles, limited feeding due to mostly corals and few fishes, so the fleece filter may to be honest not be necessary at all🤪

The problem is that it never roll automatically, I have to feed the roll manually, and I see 2 reasons:

1. The water is already clean enough
2. The flow through the Clarisea is about 2500 to 3000 liter/hour, the spec is up to 5000 liter/hour.

So have you experienced similar issues, or do anyone have some inputs on getting my usage of fleecerolls to increase.

I cannot increase flow easily because I am running maximum my main downpipe can handle...

Don't those automatically roll when it senses that section of roller mat is "full"? If your water is already pretty clean, it may take more time for it accumulate enough to trigger the sensor.
Also, the recommended flow rate is 1300 gph, which is close to 5000 lph. It may not be getting enough flow.

My impression right now must be that the Clarisea seems to be more dependent on higher flow than the old Smartroller M which was rated for upto 11000 liter/min while the Clarisea for 5000 l/min.

The Smartroller after all my corrections of constrction errors did feed the roll regulary and automatic, but the Clarisea with the bypass screw completly closed has a water level 5 to 7 cm below the float sensor, and never reach the switch.

As mentioned the amount of particles in my system are overall very low, I feed fishes quiet limited.
For the time being I do feed the roll twice a day manually 3-4 cm, just to have some value of having it installed.

Maybe any representatives from #DD Aquarium Solutions active here that may give some advice, or I contact them directly?
