Cloudy pink water

Hello all this morning when I woke up I found my tank to be very cloudy with pink water. This happened over night. Before bed everything was looking good, and my community showed no signs of issues.



This tank is almost 7 months old. Unfortunately I don’t much time to work on it today due to a wedding. I can’t get to messing with it till later tonight…

Looks to be a bacterial bloom of some sort. It would be a good idea to add an air stone for some extra aeration if you have fish as the blooming bacteria can use up available oxygen.

I have an internal 10 gallon filter. Also have on order equipment to help with extra flow.

I would add a power head of some type. Water movement is more important than filtration IME

If the water was stagnant, then bad bacteria will grow, water movement is vital. The water surface is also too flat, you need surface agitation to help with oxygenation. Add an airstone for the fish until the bloom is gone.
