Thank you but there are too many messages to look through to find the one that will be useful.

This is a complex hobby that will require some reading to be successful. Your question is too big for us to answer, no one wants to type up the entire hobby for you, which you might not even read. Its better to do some research and then ask specific questions IMO

One of the most satisfying aspects of this hobby, to me anyway, is the constant learning and research that I do. There are so many rabbit holes you can dive into that lead you to other bits and articles and opinions that people have... It just goes on and on. If you love to learn (or you might just discover that you love to learn) this is a hobby you can really dive into.

But like @Fish Fan said, this is a good place to get the basics;

Hmm, nice. Thanks - I think.
😯
There is also the BRS 52 videos series which is also popular

Thanks. Incidentally, you might want to work on your chat etiquette.

Hello,

I live in the south of England and I want to set up an aquarium with two orange amphiprion oscillaris clownfish as a beginner and I need good advice as a beginner assuming I know nothing.
If you have specific questions, please let us know 🙂

If you want just a fish tank with a couple of Clowns, that's not hard to do. Do you have any aquarium experience, like freshwater tanks?

What size tank do I need? What kind of water do I need? What about ammonia, nitrates, nitrites, urine and faeces waste, food, temperature, salinity, oxygen, filtration, bacteria, livestock, live substrate , cycling, etc, etc.

I need to know everything from knowing nothing.

What was the issue with the link I provided above, was it too long?

If you'd rather learn by video, this is a good way to go too. This article and video series will address all your questions above:

Here's 10 quick tips to get you started:

I hope this helps get you going in the right direction 🙂

I’d like to make a friend on here to guide me though it step by step.

I'd be happy to try and help you, and my first advice is to read through the Supreme Guide and/Or check out at least the first couple of videos from the article I linked above 🙂

It's a reasonably complicated hobby that's going to require some research and learning on your part, even if you have a mentor.

I will try to get you started with some of your questions:
What size tank do I need?
I'd suggest a minimum of about 56 to 75 liters for two Clownfish. I'd suggest looking for an All-In-One (AIO) aquarium where the filter system is built into the back of the tank. Cade aquaria seems to be a popular choice for those in the UK:

What kind of water do I need?
Best is RODI filtered freshwater that you mix with a salt mix (I'd suggest Instant Ocean Sea Salt). If you don't have an RODI filter you can buy jugs of distilled water from grocery stores or pharmacies, or many Local Fish Stores (LFS) will sell both RODI freshwater and pre-mixed saltwater. For just Clownfish, you could use tap water with a dechlorinator such as Seachem Prime, but with tap water you may get a lot of ugly algae growth.

What about ammonia, nitrates, nitrites, urine and faeces waste, food, temperature, salinity, oxygen, filtration, bacteria, livestock, live substrate , cycling, etc, etc.
You'll need to "nitrogen cycle" your tank before adding any fish or livestock so the tank can handle the ammonia from future livestock, and convert it into nitrite, then nitrate. Both nitrite and nitrate are relatively safe in saltwater. Here's a good guide for cycling:

Run your tank around 25C to 26C; you'll need a heater, about 1 watt/liter of aquarium water.

You'll need some circulation pumps to keep the water moving and provide gas exchange, oxygenating the water.

Clownfish are very easy to feed, they are carnevores who will eat all kinds of prepared pellets and frozen fish foods like mysis shrimp.
