Hey fellow reefers! I would like some help. I have a clownfish pair. I just bought them, but am not 100 percent on what the name of them is. Please ID the type of clown this is, and how much a pair is worth.

Need pics of both fish, both sides if possible, but to me a fish is worth a lifelong love of fun and sometimes bitter memories. :) Monetarily though, what you can get for it.

Nice fish by the way.

Those are Premium Picasso (Amphiprion percula) about $90 each. If they are truly mated pair they can be 3 times that amount.

First two are the male, and second two is female. Last image is same as in first post.

You have 4 are they all in same tank? If you are looking to sell, this arrangement is ok short term. Otherwise they will fight. And how do you know you have two female and two male, all clowns are male until one turns female. And the way to know if you only have a female is that the two get along for some time, and lay eggs.

I apologize, just a miss understanding. The person to post before you requested pictures of both fish, and of both sides. So there is only two of them (both pictured together in the original picture). The first two pics are of the male (left and right) and second two are of female (left and right). As far as knowing the gender, I am assuming one is the female because it is definitely bigger than the presumed 'male'

If these are new purchase from a group of them or mail order same difference. All clowns are male until one in a group turns female. So must likely you have two males, but if left together and they get along the larger one will turn female. That how I started with my Ocellaris clowns, they now have laid several batches of eggs. Enjoy

I am not so good at identifying the many designer clowns, but knew others could with all those pics. I would have guessed Frostbite "flurry". Others will know better than me. Hopefully a breeder will chime in. :)

Yea, me neither. When I bought them, they were advertised as ice mocha clowns. While sceptical of the name.. they were too beautiful to pass on. So that is why I am asking if someone can give me their opinion.

Just curious what did they charge for them. The price of these designer clowns is shocking, all clowns when I started this hobby cast $5.00 and there were only 5 types.

This has always been one of my personal issues. It's a per Percula that didn't breed true. Someone gave it a made up name and charged $100 for it. It's still an $18 percula. In my opinion it isn't even worth the $18 as it's an anomaly that wouldn't survive in nature. On another post someone asked if the hobby is getting to expensive. I believe that this is one of the reasons why. Just my 2 cents

Things are only worth the asking price if there are people willing to pay that amount. So Timothy says is that his clowns to him are worth 180, that is his chose. I wonder what the offspring will look like?

It’s hard to say. But if it looks very similar to what I have, I paid 60$ for this one and it’s called Blackice Extreme from sustainable aquatics
