I have the spectapure 90 gal RO unit. I also have the Aquatic Life Smart Buddy.
I'm confused on connecting these 2 units together. Does anyone have this? Could you give me some tips or possibly a diagram/schematic on setting this up?

This should help. It’s hard to describe or get a pic of how mine is set up. In the end mine kind of looks like a spaghetti monster of tubes.

Having just set up a Smart Buddy with a 6 stage BRS unit , I will say that all the tubes, and parts that will no longer be needed, can be confusing, at first. Also, note that the Smart Buddy uses different color tubes for waste/discharge water than BRS (black) and it is worse for your unit: I think that a black tube feeds the membrane (Intake) while a red changing to a yellow tube is the waste/discharge tube. Blue remains purified water.

What you need to know is that it is actually pretty straight forward if you follow the flow of water from the tap, thru the various filters, membranes and resins. It is all quite linear/sequential, except for the membrane, which has 3 connections that I mentioned above (one in and two out). You will need to remove some stuff (manual flow valve, auto shut off valve...) Leave your meters and their sensors installed.

I suggest that you label the 3 connections on the membrane unit - Intake (pre-filtered water), Output (filtered water) and Discharge (waste water). I used black hose for Discharge water and connected it to the red ports.

Tap water first flows through the two pre-filters: first a mechanical filter than a carbon filter. In your picture above, these are the first two cannisters. The tube leaving the carbon filter is pre-filtered water and it goes to the yellow upper connection on the Smart Buddy. The lower yellow connection goes to the Intake on the membrane (probably black on your unit). Two tubes leave the membrane. One is for waste/discharge water, which I left black and connected to the upper red port on the Smart Buddy. The lower red port is for waste/discharge water. The purified water from the membrane goes first to the DI resin, the right two cannisters in your picture, and then to the upper blue port on the Smart Buddy. The lower blue port sends the purifies RO/DI water to your float valve. Note that there are likely T-connections for sensors that you want to leave inline.

Before plugging in the unit, double check your connections and cannisters. Turn the water on and check for leaks. Turn the Smart Buddy on and check for leaks.

Congrats, you are done!
