Sorry for quality, did the best I could on my phone, super active fish. Really explores the space hahaha

Can anyone sort of see and guess what this is?
Was supossed to be a QT'd fish held for over a month.
I don't think its a stab from the Gem Tang but could be?

This bump can be from a skin irritation or past injury . keep an eye on it for stability or reduction. If it is creases in size or number, may require treatment with an antibiotic such as seachem neoplex. Assure to maintain good water quality and monitor with a reliable test kit(s)
Body has great weight as I often see new ones thin

haver you yet tried foods? They all pick at rocks and nori but most wont eat physical foods. Some good ones are Brine shrimp, Mysis shrimp, LRS herbivore diet, plankton and Hikari seaweed diet.

Yeah, I mention that cause my Gem didn't eat for a couple days. But the Convict does eat Formula one pellets, the Gem does too, neither seem to show interest in PE mysis or SF Frozen marine cuisine. Oddly I have tried the Hikari Seaweed Extreme totally ignored.

I'm a bit late to the thread but oddly enough my convict tang has the exact same bump in the exact same spot. Did this ever resolve for you?, or is it something common that we are just noticing on this less popular variety of tang?

Oh and I forgot to add mine eats like a pig nori, mysis, krill, pretty much anything I put in the tank.

Yeah, it's gone. I treated the tank with prazi, and that must have killed the parasite.

I would love for mine to eat everything. I can only get him to eat nori, but yeah, he doesn't stop eating. All day non stop picking at rocks.
He's doing well, had him a few months now, and he's nice and fat. So idk, but would be convenient for when I'm away.

Hmm this tang just got out of QT he was treated with HTTM and prazi. All my fish go through QT. Mine was a bit touch and go through QT he didn't want to eat in there. He was pretty skinny when he got out. I will continue to monitor him.

It was just odd to me that he has litterally the same exact bump in the same exact spot. If he would slow down for a pic I will get one.....LOL

Yeah, idk what it is tbh. I got him pre- QT'd prazi and copper. Got him home and he had that bump, and his scratching slowly increased. I treated with prazi anyway, and it healed.
But yeah, it's not a common fish. Humblefish stopped carrying them due to their sensitivity to treatment. So I guess they are a little bit of a harder Tang to work with. Seems though, once happy they are easy going a little goofy and don't mess with anyone else.

Yup my friend who does QT for a living told me the same thing. I was lucky to get this one through. He said he has had so many not make it that he won't do them anymore either.
