Buy live and freeze them. Your home freezer won't kill all the bacteria and it is much better for the fishes immune system.
Should I buy monthly stock? Like 15? Feed every alternate days. As it's really really far from my place. Are fish eggs also good to feed?

You can buy them monthly. They will keep in your freezer for months. Buy the biggest clams you can get. I get what we call chowder clams here because they are to big to eat whole and they are cheaper

@nanomania Don't know if this terminology will help in India, but these are the typical clams you see for sale at seafood markets here in the US:

Little Neck: The smallest size of clam, amounting to 7-10 clams per pound.

Cherry Stone: A little larger, you'll get 6-10 cherry stone clams per pound.

Top Neck: These are sometimes also labeled as count neck clams, and they equal roughly 4 clams per pound.

Quahog: These big guys are also called chowder clams and weigh in at a mighty 2-3 clams per pound.

I personally prefer little neck clams, because the fish will usually eat 1 of those before you have to toss it. Less waste.

Going off the ledge: Would you be interested in a drop off aquarium?
