Hi All,
I wondered what the risks would be to running the coral and invertebrates QT tank off of my primary display's sump? There are so many advantages of using the same water source in both tanks, and I cannot think of any real risks because I believe that any potential coral hitchhikers do not live in the water column like fish parasites.... or am I wrong?

My sump does run a UV
I do maintain a separate and independent QT Tank for my fish.

Any thoughts as to why I should not do this?

The most important reason to have a coral or invert qt is to keep diseases out, which have a free swimming stage, so I wouldn’t recommend keeping them on the same sump.
