Corals dying not sure why?

This is my thought also. You can kill corals with too much blue light. I'd try to find someone with the same fixtures and same corals at the same PAR (or distance if a PAR meter isn't available) and duplicate the settings. I would also get some live rock and add that, uit provides cryptic sponges and microbes essential for a healthy reef ecosystem you can't get in a bottle or rock with just some bacteria added (see here). I wouldn't worry about phosphates (see here). Adding amino acids may help as corals much prefer the organic nitrogen amino acids provide over the inorganic form nitrate.

Thank you for your advice. I will look into a better light schedule and intensity. Amino acid is ordered and should be here next week so hopefully that helps.

I’m gonna say flow might be your biggest issue. My frogspawn hates much flow at all. And you’ve got lots of softies that won’t open. I’d try to turn down flow a ton and see what happens. I can’t see anything else that would cause this. Your parameters are fine. No matter what you post parameters to be somebody will think of a way it could negatively affect corals. No way to know. People have different experiences with the same parameters. It’s hard to get right. But I really think your corals are more sensitive to flow than others might be. I’ve gotten odd downdrafts on a frag rack on a wall before some corals hated as well. Good luck tho. I know you’ll figure it out. You’re doing fine so far. It’s a hard hobby.

I did think this at one point as well so I turned both Nero 3's off and just let the returns move the water which is still quite a bit of flow. I have a negative space aquascape so my rock doesn't really block much flow at all. I will continue to push forward and try to figure out my problem. Trust me I know its a hard hobby, I've had salt water tanks for over 10 years. This is my 1st AIO I'm so use to having a sump. All previous tanks had MH and T5's so also leds are a mystery to me still. Thank you for taking the time to help me out.

I’m stumped then . Amazing that after 10 years things still happen that can’t be explained. All I can say then is good luck. If it was me I’d just change out 100% of the water over a few changes over a week or something to maybe get a possible contaminant out. Maybe something that’s not being detected is in the water they don’t like. Keep us updated though.

I just sent off a ICP test to triton. I will update when I get results back. I also made a ton of rodi water last night that I am gonna mix and do a large water change today. Thank you for helping me brain storm. Even after 10 year it's still a challenge. Technology just keeps us on our toes.

It says my iodine is low and barium is elevated. Not sure if I should dose anything to supplement? My corals have not been doing good. Dying slowly for some and the others just not growing. Had an ICP to try and figure out what was going on.

Yep, all that could be accurate or not, dosing a little bit certainly wont hurt, but it probably wont help much. I had already suggested that I think you are cooking your corals with too much light and I believe that even more so now.

No, the only thing I have supplemented is amino acids and just started that about a week ago, only 1 dose so far. Oh and I dose phytoplankton daily.

All the dosing stuff is very new to me. Not sure on any of it. I feel like if I can't test for it then I probably shouldn't add it, but my corals are dying and just can't put a finger on the problem.

Based on the ICP test, I would at least dose some iodine. Continue with everything else to aid in the process of elimination.

I lowered the intensity and time my lights are on after your comment before. Just seeing if anyone sees something that I might be missing. Thanks for helping me think out of my box.

10711 mg/l which was in range on ICP test. With the hanna checker I get 1.025.

I just use Seachem Iodide, but I'm sure other brands are just as good if not better

im also not familiar with your light - is it all blue/purple? healthy coral really needs broad spectrums. the narrow blue/uv bands is really only good for coloring up the corals and activating a few very specific fluorescent proteins in the cyan/blue/green shades.

I have 2 redsea reef 90's on a E260 redsea tank. I believe the lights are more than enough. I have control over blue, white, and moonlight spectrums. I don't believe moon light is anything other than for looks at lights out but I maybe wrong. I will look into renting a par meter.
