Coralvue hydros not connecting?

I got my hydros launch in the mail today, but it won’t connect to wifi. It has the yellow blinking wifi LED and when I set it up it’s stuck on “Installing UserID”
If I restart the app it does show it in my devices, but it won’t load the status. It’s right next to my Control XP8 which is connecting perfectly fine so I don’t know what to do. I’ve restarted my router, reset the device to factory settings, and also moved it around to make sure no water is in the wifi line of sight. Any suggestions on what to try?

May be same issues as the Hydros WiFi strips which are super buggy and often have connection issues.

Remember the LEDs are very diagnostic, YELLOW would indicate that it is connected, but does not have internet access.

I would simply force close the HYDROS app, power cycle the device, and try once more. If you run into the issue once again, please be sure to reach out. Not worried, we will get you up and runnin!

WiFi power strips utilize intravenous wifi communication. If you have an open, 2.4ghz network, non mesh...all outlined in the HYDROS user manual, the WiFi strip works fantastically.

What is different about these strips, compared to any other device out there, fish tank or not....HYDROS WiFi Strips are communicating in the network to each other, intravenously, through a local wifi connection.

The strips themselves are working, they are connected, but a mixed band network, band steering, mesh networks...will all cause hiccups in that communication.

You must have the proper network settings, or perhaps add and access point to provide and aquarium network.

While we are happy to provide users with the affordable $25 and $40 option for the WiFi Plug, and 4-Outlet WiFi Strip...you must follow our guidelines on proper network setup.

Meanwhile, the HYDROS Controls are all independently connected to the network, as an independent brain of the overall HYDROS Collective. With a control like the LAUNCH or the XP8, they are hardwired to the system. They will always have decision-making capabilities, from multiple devices in the collective, even if the command bus were disconnected, you can tell the system what to do if it doesn't know an input or dependency.

Do you have the collective cable connected and the rest of the connectors with termination plugs?

2nd that Coralvue support has treated me right. I clearly wasn't "getting it" with emails and someone offered to call me, and it was fixed in 5min.

Unfortunately I have two Hydros WiFi strips and they are on dedicated 2.4Ghz bands. One was so buggy I had to taken offline and replaced with a Kasa smart strip. The other is still online but loses connection at least once a week so I have only non-critical things on it. I have no other issues from any other vendors on that 2.4Ghz band. If you search on this forum there are many others who have also had major issues with the hydros Wifi strips.

If you exhaust other options and have a spare router, try setting up a separate 2.4ghz band. I have 2 Asus routers and my launch would not connect to either 2.4ghz channel. I daisy chained an old Verizon router and I haven't had a connection problem since. It's a neat product, but it's wireless tech is a real headache.

I do have to order the termination plugs still as I wasn’t aware that I needed them to make a collective, but right now I’m just attempting to run my two devices separately.
