Good morning / afternoon reefers. Hope everyone is doing well. Long time reader first time poster. I was in the hobby many many moons ago. I used to have the old AI Sol blue led lights and was able to daisy chain those together. I was wondering if there are lights now a days that you can do the same. I just recently got back in the hobby in Feb of this yr and started with a 40g bow front and currently upgrading to a 125g 6ft tank. I plan on mostly just having zoas, hammers, torches and frogspawns. Not really looking for anything with high par. Something that will keep the above corals happy.
I was thinking AI blade but have read bad reviews on it. I was happy back with the Ai Sol and corals did great. Attached is my 6ft tank it is done cycling and now looking to add led lights now.
Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Either 3 led I can daisy chain together or if there are any reefers using the AI blades, what are your opinions on it?

Thank you everyone for your input.

The Kessil A160 and A360's can be daisy chained and I've always recommended them for their performance and Kessil's customer service
So Kessil would be a good option :)

What did you read that turned you against the Blade? I like mine.

I’m not sure what you mean by daisy chain in this context, but the blades each have their own power supply.

What is the benefit of a daisy chain?

Daisy chain allows you to tie/string lights together all off one power source. Like Christmas lights in a sense.

Ok, that’s what I understood. Why is that an advantage? Reduced clutter?

As for the AI blade I love the concept of it. But I was reading some reviews on it on BRS as well as youtube. Some ppl mentioned that maybe half of the tank was light in blue the other half in white. Read more than a few reviews. I guess I can purchase it and if I have the same issues I can return it but I dont want to go through all that hassle of having to return it.
Other reason I was leaning towards the blade was I love how it sits on top of the tank

I have been looking at the kessil love the sleek look on them.

There aren't many that can daisy chain power .
Chinese black boxes, reefbreeder meridians.

The Meridian is one of the most modular and expandable lights available. It supports multiple units and Edge bars on a single power supply, allowing for up to 600 watts of combined output while reducing the number of required outlets

There are more that daisy chain data .
Kessil, Nicrew...

Reduce wire clutter and reduce outlet usage. I have a power surge protector but would rather connect one plug than 3 or multiple

Kessils you can daisy chain the data cable but you can not the power supply. Like @oreo54 said not many you can do it with the supply.

I am pretty sure the blade issue was fixed on newer ones. I have one of the first runs 21" with no issues it is a nice light.

There are some models where one could just get a larger power supply than the included one in order to run multiple units..

There are some bars that can be added here..

I run meridians and you can daisy chain the main lights themselves and also the matching led bars. They make bigger power supplies to handle larger loads of multiple lights linked.

I have two Meridian 11 running off a single power cord.

You can daisy chain any lights you want granted you’re a little handy and they don’t go over the power usage of a single power supply. You can buy a 600w power supply and get the connectors for every light out there and solder them to the power brick and plug them all into it if ya want.. I’ve done this with several lights like reefbrites and radions etc. the standard fixtures that come ready to daisy chain are reef breeders and reefi uno that I’m aware of..

Minor nits, can't do this with LEDs that use ac/ DC constant current drivers like some bars.
The ac line can be ganged though.
1 wall plug but no new power supplies.
There are limits.

Constant voltage Power supplies only and all the same voltage. The voltage thing could be arguable a bit. Depends on the design.
Let's call it :highly: recommended.

I did also read that the maxspect ethereal can also be daisy chained together but just needs a controller. Those are nice i love the features. Might have to dive deeper into these. Just need something to keep zoas hammer torches etc

I know you can daisy chain Reefi. I dont know how many though. With a 6' tank and the corals you are looking at 3 would work well and would not need to be run anywhere near max output. I think the new power supplies are 300w running each at 60-100w should give you all the light you would need. Is that possible? Might only be able to run 2 off the power supply not sure. Send Daniel an email he always responds.
