Daylight Dangers?

I'm just starting to populate my tank with a few LPS and realized that I get some pretty strong lighting into my tank for a few (roughly 3) hours of the day through a skylight.

There's been no major algae outbreak other than the expected 'uglies' that from a new tank which have receded, but my concern is whether or not lower light corals - specifically my Elegance - is getting too much.

I've had the coral for less than a week and it seems to be doing well, but I thought I'd ask for a second opinion.

Is the skylight glass frosted or have any sort of film to reduce the light? If not it could be adding very high par during those fee hours, but the only way to get more than a guess is probably a par meter or even free phone apps could give you a general idea of what is hitting the tank just above water level or from the side.

I do have a Seneye, but the question is 'how much PAR is too much?'

I do believe there's an anti-reflective coating on them which would presumably reduce UV a but (kinda like on some car windshields), but I'm not sure. I might just need to install a shade or something similar to deal with it.

Depends on the specific coral of course but i try to have lps generally in 100-200 par but during my peak periods some of them get 250+. Some like my torches sometimes a good deal higher at their peak light period.

Unless the corals demonstrate bleaching/pigment loss, it’s not a problem. I have two tanks that get direct sun and it has never been an issue. Elegance corals come from shallow water, so I doubt yours would suffer.
