I have somewhat of a baby derasa clam, it still has its bysall threads attached to a mount I placed on the sandbed, but recently one end of the clam didn't extend as much as it would recently, is there a cause to this?

Your shrimp may be dancing on him, or picking at him. Could also be your lights, parameters, or age of your tank. Can you give us more info?

That makes sense, I've seen the shrimp on it a couple of times, is there any info you would like to know specifically?

Derasa are a lower light clam but 200 above par is recommended. Most likely the shrimp that's irritating the clam. I see new shell growth and since its attached then I would not change a thing. Keep an eye on the shrimp.

Agree with others on the shrimp but it also looks like there’s a anemone very close, any chance it may have touched your clam when it was open?

It's a torch coral I recently added into the tank, this is about as far as it extends - should I move it away?

The clam is below the light on the sandbed and my light isn't too strong, I dose phytoplankton 2 times a week (nyos). But what I am concerned about is small polychaete worms I have seen recently in my tank, could they possibly go inside the clam and devour it from the inside?
