Literally 1 minute after I left it disconnected!

Right! I turned on the log files for more equipment this morning to see what happens.

Thank you @Reefandthecurious I looked at the 170 as well, but knew I wouldn't like the small foot print. The 250 fits me and my needs perfectly! I've never looked at lion fish, are they reef safe?

Yes they are minimum requirement is a 50gal. Also the only thing is your very limited with other livestock. I’m not entirely 100% but I’ve read a few places that if you get lion fish to only put that in your tank and nothing else because chances are it will get eaten but the lion fish. Another fact about keeping lionfish is you have to handle them carefully with feeding because there fins are venom ness. Other than that it’s a wonderful fish to have in the tank

They’re a beautiful fish and can generally be kept with other predators. Do a little searching for predator tanks and you’ll be able to piece together a stock list that might work.

For a great example google Felicia’s 40B predator tank. I’d link it but dont want to pop a random video in on Pelphrey :)

Came out great!

I’m thrilled with it! It’s going to take some getting used to, I can see the cooler separation for sure. I’ve been told the diffusers will help with that.

Thanks to a buddy for sending me the apogee mq-510! I tested par at 60% and 100% intensity with the 3 kessils. Need to test radions and chart it out.

A fuge is a good idea. Makes a big difference with nutrient control and the ability to do it effectively. Good for pods too.

Pretty neat light bracket and I was wondering the same thing about the feeder. I sometimes toss some pellets into my tank through the mesh cover and some of them bounce all over the place. Nice clean sump too!

when your feeder feeds, do pellets fly all over the place?

They don’t, I’ve used this setup for awhile. I do have plans to change my plumbing and live the AFS to the return section of my sump. Can’t do that right now running a manifold.

I still have my Santa Monica RAIN2 ATS, I just want to try a fuge now! And I need pods badly!

Thank you! I have no issues with the pellets and the screen top!

Both Christmas trees are up! Got a 10 gallon water change done last weekend, need to do something about this bubble algae before it really gets bad!

The Nyos skimmer has good weeks and bad weeks. Last week was good!

Hey @pelfrey
Do you have any vids on how to remove the gyre motor driver section for cleaning ? The coral vue vids on the first generation gyre don’t seem to be very helpful as the design seemed to have changed.

I took apart mine for cleaning yesterday and I wasn’t too happy with the experience... lots of bits to take apart and one of the shafts came off the rotors (bad glue job)! I couldn’t figure out how to get into the motor compartment so I gave up and put it back half cleaned into the tank....
thanks for any tips!

I don’t think I do. I’ve only taken mine apart a few times. I run them in vinegar pretty often. Mine always come apart easy and go back together.
