Good luck with the swap! Btw, I have Siporax in my overflow as well, except I used a 20lb fishing line and threaded 4 lines the height of the box and connected them up top and bottom, was able to fit their entire box full that way with minimal footprint.

A couple people mentioned in my video the fishing line trick. I NEVER thought about that. So you have any picture of the top? How is that working out for you?

Just skimmed your thread Pelphrey nice work! I'm sure you mentioned it but how did you mount/stabilize your 80/20? I have two Radion XR30s and I may end up getting an Aquatic Life fixture. 80/20 would work perfectly in my case.

Here is a video I did on my setup!

A couple hours later! The RedSea plumbing is always miserable to mess with, the emergency drain leaked, took it apart 5 times. Think I have it solved! Had to remove the inlet adapter and bottom plate off my cor20. BUT.... HUGE shoutout to @Crystal Reef Aquatics for responding to my questions on a Saturday!

I removed approx 9 gallons from the sump, ended up adding it back and an additional 8-9 gallons. Added water volume doesn’t hurt my feelings!

Need to figure out where the Neptune DOS is going to go, and adjust the Tunze 3155 sensors. Since I changed out to a try gate valve it took +-10 minutes to get my full siphon!

Overall, I am thrilled with the new sump and ATO container! A couple thoughts.. no more filter socks, since this is a triton style sump. I’m okay with that! Extra water volume is a HUGE plus! It really is a true plug and play setup! Thanks again to @Crystal Reef Aquatics !!!

Thanks for posting that. Is the board that you used secured to the stand somehow? I'm guessing the Aquatic Life fixture had some weight to it so I'm wondering what kept it from pulling the thing down if it wasn't secured. I'm going to try to have mine away from the wall a little in case I need to get behind the tank. Thanks!

I used double sided tape, that’s it! When I had the t5 fixture on the 8020 it was firm!

So you will be able to have over 10% volume in the refugium compared to the entire system. I'm assuming you'll be doing the full Triton method. I bet you won't miss the filter socks and all the space they took up in your stock sump !!!

Love the new sump! Haven't been on the forums much as of late but usually talk to you over on YouTube.

Are you going full Triton or another dosing regimen like it?

The 120 I bought months ago is finally getting ready to setup. I decided on a custom Triton style sump as well.

Very nice looking sump. The extra water volume is a plus.

The refugium space is crazy to me, so much room!

I don’t have plans to run the triton method, I’m actually nowhere near the need for dosing. I do dose amino acids. Once I get to that point I’ll have to figure it out!

Really love the new setup! Mounted the Neptune AFS over the return chamber, also mounted the DOS to the stand.

I do plan to remove some of the media out of the sump a little at a time.

A custom sump from Elite Aquatics. 33*15*15 I believe. Fuge > Skimmer > Return

I had a sump from Elite Aquatics, same outer dimensions but skimmer section first, then refugium. Had it before Triton method came about. It was like 6 years ago. Really nice sump.

The sump are looks great. Seems to be more user friendly also.

All the changes are a improvement since your second wind.

I have the eshopps cube sump once, I swore then I would never have a sump with the return chamber in a back compartment. Here I am full circle! BUT.... This time I can actually fit my head into the stand and at least one arm to get into that compartment! haha It's nice to have the second wind, I have some time off I need to take before the middle of March. Plan to order some livestock around the days I take off, save me a little money on shipping!

I've not seen one in person, but there are a few EA sumps floating around Reef2Reef. They all look great!

Sorry to hear about your yellow wrasse. Awesome fish to take care of bristle worms. I think your sand may be to thick for it, I use to have one that love to sleep in the sandbed. Until it decided to carpet surf, and jumped through the lid.
