    Hey so just for a warning, I would avoid buying anything Fusible! That means there is adhesive on one side so you can attach it to another fabric. You want regular felt with 100% polyester, nothing fusible. For Reference Pellon is a brand of fusible materials, almost anything by them is not a good option.

    The DIY ones should last as long as the store bought. The key differences in longevity is going to be how fine of filtration you are doing. The lower the micron, the more stuff you will clog the sock with and the sooner it will need to be cleaned. If you make extras you can rotate them in use and give them time be cleaned. I had a set last at least a year without much issue.

    You should be able to find that material from anyplace that sells cloth. If there is a Walmart over there that would be a good place. good luck :)
