I carry a Leatherman Skeletool CX wherever I go (Anywhere that does not involve metal detectors LOL). I use it every day. If I forget it at home, I end up needing it when I'm out and about.

Any other R2R members carry a Multi-Tool or Pocket Knife?

pocketknife, Kershaw speedsafe iirc (assisted open). I have quite a few browning/kershaw etc.. Before anybody flames me for not using a benchmade, etc, know that i abuse them thoroughly. I use them as prybars and screwdrivers. But I never feel more naked than I do w/o my knife.

I carry a baretta px4 subcompact... Not what you were getting at but it's what I carry around :) if needed in sure it could open a door or 11

Haha, that's some great self defense/door opening power, but what are you going to do if you need to strip a wire or open a stubborn plastic package? ;)

My dad has a PX4 SC, he bought it after I had a PX4 F , which I sold in favor of my new G19! Do we have a firearms thread? Can I start one? :xd:

Well you got me there :) I saw one I liked but I don't remember what brand it was.

There is one. I think it's "gun nuts" or something. Maybe two-three months old

I know what you mean. I feel so helpless without my knife. Even if not accounting for self defense, I feel useless without it LOL. I wish mine had spring assist, but I can get it open pretty fast with one hand.

???

I may just do that. What would you guys recommend? I would probably just keep it in the car/truck so it wouldn't be used very often so cheap is okay with me

Edited above post to make it more easily understood

Leathermans are broken up into Pocket Size, Full Size, and Heavy Duty on their website.

I went with the Skeletool because I wanted something that I could easily carry in my pocket. I did not want to be walking around Target with a sheath on my hip (Some of these Minnesotans scare easy LOL). The skeletool seemed to be the most well made of the Pocket Size knives so I went with that.

Now, if I was using it for hiking, camping, or Survivorman style excursions LOL, then I'd go with a Full Size or Heavy Duty with a Sheath.

If I just wanted to have it in my car as a useful thing for random situations then I'd most likely go with a Heavy Duty or full size.

Up until about a month ago I always kept my Gerber Bear Grylls knife. I've gone through tons of different knives landscaping and none has yet out performed this knife, unfortunately I missed placed it for the time being:sad:, but I do plan to replace it. Simple, light, clean, looks great, and basically indestructible.

I have a Gerber clip knife I carry with me constantly. I can't function throughout the day without it. I have several multi tools but I keep them I'm my truck or boat, I don't carry them around. I have a Buck knife I keep super sharp for skinning deer. I also have a long fixed blade Buck knife I carry during long trips in the woods but I don't use it often. Not counting all the misc. knifes I have that I rarely use.

I carry a springfield XDm 4.5 in 9mm.So sexy and holds 20 in the mag.I feel naked leaving home without it.

I carry a Gerber 4" folding pocket knife, not sure of the model. And yes I have had to go to the doc's and get a wound cleaned up from it.... When I seen blood squirting from the palm of my hand I figured since my doc's office was 1/2 a block away I'd might as well get it looked at... I'm a bit jumpy when it comes to hand wounds, I've cut my right middle and ring fingers right off before...

Haha it sounds like we have the same knives, I have the Gerber and I use my Buck Jr fixed blade for cleaning my ducks. My buddy handed me a Swingblade the other day while cleaning ducks and I used it for about 30 seconds before I decided I was unimpressed with all the hype.
