When getting new corals, I see some suggest putting them at the bottom of the tank to adjust to light. When you know they need high light and high flow, do you instantly place them where you think you want them or do you start them at the bottom and work your way up gradually?

This is kind of a loaded question.
Mostly I put the coral where I want it, BUT it really depends on the coral. Like if I want a torch in the upper most highest light area of my tank I will acclimate it to that light first. I have seen torches in anywhere from 150-400 par their suggested par range is mid 100s. So no in that case I would acclimate.

I place them where I intend for them to stay.
