My husband used to play ALOT and was super competitive when he was a kid. He found his cards during our spring cleaning and now we are playing. Went out yesterday and today and bought a bunch of new cards and we are really enjoying it! lol! Feeling pretty nerdy but what-evs... Does anyone still play or used to play?

uh...my kids play them...lol....i have no idea how to play. Any tips so I can wow them with some insight pokemon knowledge?

lol Phil! I would say just being supportive and asking how to play with them would amaze them. :) I know my Mom didn't really let me get involved and thought it was a waste of money so I wish she had been more involved. My husband's Mom was into it with him and he says that that made it really fun for him to have her support. :D

It's not just cards...it's wii games, ds games, and their friends at school talk about it, they sing the theme song....I'm supportive but grades come first...so far she's been an A student so pokemon is fine...:) the kids like to trade cards too...i'm always leary of them being manipulated to give away the best cards...but c'est la vie. Can't worry about everything - gotta let them take their lumps and learn.

The only thing i know is that once in a blue moon my girls will start singing JIG................GLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIii.........PUFFFFFFFFF

jigliiiiiiiiiiii puff.....

lol.
is that my cue to pretend to sleep? or is there a card that can help me???

See you need to practice while there at school so they dont know. Then they will think you know everything. Lol

I loaded one from my childhood on my kindle fire game boy emulator. Played it for awhile. Also relearned how to play the card game to teach my 6 yearold son. still a bit too young for the card game but he like to walk and battle on my kindle

NO! Pokemon proves that there are bigger nerds than reef nerds.

wow....can honestly say i nevre got into this.. haha nor are my kids lol... but i will admit i was a warcraft nerd for a while....

LOL just had one of those boy do I feel old moments :squigglemouth: Pokemon was after my time, the big card game when I was in school was the Magic cards.

I still own an extensive collection of Pokemon cards. I don't really play them anymore but I get super exited when I see them! I could probably get rid of a debt or two if I sold them off. . . I'd rather be in debt!

I don't play the cards, but I have a Soul Silver and X if anyone cares to trade friend codes.

I still have all of my first printed Pokemon cards from a kid! I knew one day they'd be worth money, I have probably around 10 holographic charizard cards that are worth around 900 each!

I love the Pokemon video games, but I never had the patience for the card game. The Yugioh card game is my favorite!

A pokemon discussion? Oh yea!
I have yellow, gold and silver on GBP but only play yellow.
I just finished season 1 of the show and am part way into season 2 :)
I have the whole set of first gen cards somewhere. May have to look into how much they're worth :)
