I noticed light spots on my clownfish today. Concerned it may have something not good.
Any insights on what it may be?

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

I see a possible bacterial infection.

If you post a clear video, I may be able to confirm that it isn’t Brooklynella (fish with that swim differently).

Also, can you give us some background information; how long have you had the fish, what else is in the tank with it, is it eating and breathing normally?

What could it be if it’s gone now?
I did give it metroplex in food.

Can you get us a video?

Metroplex in the water would have been better, but I don’t think that drug had anything to do with it going away.

The larger clown has fin damage - it's a bit unusual, but the smaller clown could have done that (since it has no damage). What other fish are in the tank? The firefish and the clown goby wouldn't have done that...maybe another fish?

Also, the surface of the tank is very still, with oil on it from fish food. Did you turn off filters for the video? if not, you should look into better surface agitation/aeration, as well as see if there is surface skimming that isn't working right.

That’s all the fish in the tank.
Had them for 3 weeks. The larger clown had fin damage when I got him.
I took the video during feeding, everything was off. I’m installing a surface skimmer on Monday.

What should I do about the fin damage?

What should I do about the fin damage?

Well, if the fish arrived with that damage and you know the smaller clownfish isn't the cause, then you need to make a determination if the fin damage is staying the same/getting better or if it is getting worse. If the latter, then a bacterial infection would be suspected. For that, you would need to move the fish to a hospital tank and medicate with a broad spectrum, gram negative antibiotic. Either Neomycin or Kanaplex would be good options.
