For my 15 gallon tank I've been using a Hygger Wavemaker 4w and I've found it to be too strong for my tank as my clown just sits at the back in the slower current. The only reason I use it is to ensure my tank is well oxygenated and to remove some algae. I was thinking of switching my outlet nozzle on my filter from a duck bill to a rain mode outlet and remove my wave maker to allow my fish to swim around the tank. Is this a good idea?

My 15 gallon has 2 sicce voyager nano powerheads, the sicce's send out a gentle wide stream of water, compared to the strong narrow stream of that hygger puts out (I have that 4w hygger in another tank).
Ill have to look into those powerheads then, thanks

Not overly unusual for clowns to stay in one spot.

If it really bugged him, I think he would just move the nesting spot.

After lights out, my wavemakers are stopped, for a nighttime rest period, then restart when lights on. Just a simple timer can do that.

Just the return flow at night, plus a tiny undersized wavemaker through the night in case the return flow stops.
