My dream FOWLR/Softie tank would be a replica of one I saw while on Vacation in Ireland. It was at Bray Aquarium, no idea on the gallons or system info but it was a raised pond style tank. I would guess it was around 26ft wide 32ft long 4ft deep. It contained some rays that looked like eagle rays, a bonnethead shark, and a blacktip shark, some auriga butterflies, a bunch of yellowtail damsels. I would throw in a couple of triggers and a leopard shark.

For a SPS reef I would love to have a peppermint angel, interuptus angel and some ventralis anthias. The angels are just way more than I would ever spend on fish and the anthias I don’t think I’d be able to keep alive long term.

If you had the space and the money what would your perfect dream fish be?
My dream is to have at least one pair of every Anemonefish species found in the oceans and not just the officially recognized ones but also all those "local color forms" that lumped in with the few recognized species but are likely valid species in their own right. That would currently be around 70 give or take a few... And each pair would likely need its own 100 to 200-gallon tank.
I guess I would need a building suitable to house a public aquarium...

I gonna have to settle for the few I would really want to add to the 13 pairs I already have:
  1. Amphiprion fuscaudatus
  2. Amphiprion snyderi
  3. Amphiprion latezonatus
  4. Amphiprion crysogaster
  5. Amphiprion papuensis
  6. Amphiprion allardi
And yes, I would also want a pair or harem group of Centropyge resplendens

Mine was an Achilles Tang, I had one in my 180g for almost 2 years. He was AWESOME!!!! Then I had to break down the 180g and leave the hobby. Now I'm back, but I only have a 75g and I could probably have a small one until he grew out more, but I just wouldn't want the heartbreak of rehoming him.

New to the reefing life with my 88g reef.

If you had the space and the money what would your perfect dream fish be?

As for myself I think I’d go with the Sailfin Tang, I know it’s not the rarest fish but I just love those fins.

Chaetodon Tinkeri
Chaetodon Trifaciatus
Chaetodon Larvatus
Chaetodon Rostratus

These 4 fish will complete the population of my current 300 gallon.
I am actively looking for all 4 now. I found a larger Tinkers but would really like smaller of all 4. However since no one is bringing in fish right now it seems like I am out of luck, at least for now.

TSM Aquatics has larvatus coming out of QT. Email them if you're still looking.

That's a really hard one, gee... I have to make a list lol

-A group of Tosanoides aphrodite, completely absent from the hobby and most likely never will be available, but a man can dream, yeah?
-A pair of Joculator angelfish, such beauties.
-A pair of Slingjaw wrasses, Epibulus insidiator. Gorgeous fish, not necessarily too hard to find but they get huge.
-Christmas island triggerfish, Xanthicthys greenei.
-An enormous school of sunburst anthias.
-And finally, while very common, a clown harem tank with Amphiprion perideraion, and Macrodactyla doreensis.

NYAquatic has a Larvatus (or two?) available as of today:
And there's a 10% off sale there tomorrow afternoon.

But, just what do you plan to feed it?

Good question....

for me? Golden dwarf moray, fu Manchu lion, crosshatch trigger.

the first two are theoretically possible with the size of my tank. And the lion might actually be a thing. The cost of a GDM is scary though, and I’m not sure my better half would put up with me spending that much on a single “fish”.

the trigger...yeah. That’s a dream lol
