Duncan issue......maybe. Need info please

So I was just looking over my tank making sure everything looked good. As I haven't noticed this before on this Duncan I took a closer look and looks like the base is retracting. I will keep an eye on it but just trying to get some info. Here is a picture of it. I also attached a picture pointing out exactly where the base of the Duncan is.
