So it finally is somewhat out and about this is very interesting to see if this rings true over the next couple of days. I’ve also heard rumors that they (BRS) has been having some talks with a certain coral vendor about a buy out as well.

Hope we see confirmation one way or the other soon. If this is true I hope that it's a net positive for the hobby. I don't want to see things turn to a monolithic megacorp pumping out shoddy, less than innovative products.

I am so glad I sold my ecotechs. BRS becoming too big. Not good for competition and not good for our wallets. This industry is already suffering from too few vendors of size. I guess the one good thing is that when they tell you about MAP pricing you can call shenanigans.

Brs is buying companies for 2-3x forward earnings. That shows no growth in the company and no working capital to change that.

That or the companies they are buying are under duress due to covid and are just getting absolute steals due to a fire sale. I hope that is not the case but who knows

Yes and hopes for better customer service for Ecotech product.
Although many have had success with their CS, many more I know of including myself have not.
Where is BRS getting the funds for all these acquisitions- Affirm ?? (ok - that was a joke)

I am in the boat of I won't believe it till it's official. Just some CS Rep saying it does not make it true. It would be an obvious merger on BRSs part, but this rumor that BRS was trying to buy ecotech has been going around the circles for a hot minute now.

Zero surprise here- BRS videos have been an echotech/Neptune commercial for years- the threesome deserve each other. I just feel sorry for anyone that thought the vids had no bias.

Don't see this being a bad thing. Ecotech has been stagnant and their quality is in the toilet.

However, just because Bertram has been buying companies doesn't mean things are changing. Neptune is still being run as a separate company for now. It will likely take years to bring in the right people and get things fixed. Throw in Covid and it's killing progress right now

Until there is an official statement from ecotech, or BRS, I won't believe it.

FWIW, the couple times I've had to call ecotech, their CS was second to none. I can see that is not the norm though.

BRS on the other hand, I've had great CS, and other times I've been told to go pound salt when something arrives missing or broken. I guess it's all on who you talk to, and how bad of day that particular person is having.

Did you read the page you linked? They just reupped the patents in april 2021.

They never had a patent for "wires outside the tank". What their patent was for, is magnetically coupled housings, where one housing turns a magnet with a drive motor, and the other housing spins another magnet.

It seems they made a design improvement(mp10 perhaps?), and renewed the original patent.
