Looking good! I really like my Elos.

A word of caution though... Elos stands are meant to be around water. MDF is not. It's basically paper. It will swell/warp/split. Even if coated in moisture resistant paint.

The hinges are Euro hinges. Available at home depot/lowes.

Thanks for heads up this stand is to get me by for a bit until the budget allows me to invest in a new stand, the Elos one was it really bad shape

Cool, just be extra careful with spills and stuff.
And I would look at putting a vent hole on the back wall with a fan blowing the humid air out of the stand.

Also, i didn't pay attention to this the first time, but that shelf your sump is sitting on... is that shelf supported purely by screws in the side walls?
I wouldn't trust the MDF to hold that kind of weight.
Shove some 2x4 supports under there.
I just don't want to see your sump come crashing down in the middle of the night.

The Elos stands, at least this one that we tossed out, was simply particle board with a white laminate. As you can tell in one of the early pictures, the Elos stand did not hold up to moisture very well at all at the bottom. Particle board and MDF have virtually the same moisture characteristics. They will both swell to a max of .5% for every 1% of moisture increase... and that's even comparing moisture resistant particle board to standard MDF. MDF wasn't readily available in my area when I started my profession 24 years ago... so we primarily used particle board. Once MDF became available, we switched over 100% because it's much more dense than particle board. The new stand is entirely coated with multiple coats of a satin clear, high traffic, polyurethane floor finish over the white base coat. We use this same polyurethane coating on hard wood floors in restaurant kitchens... it is INSANE! It will be more water resistant than laminate over particle board. The laminate gets glued on and then the edges router trimmed. Which leaves a seam that has the potential to let moisture in. It's purely relying on the laminate glue to keep moisture out... which failed on the Elos stand. Whereas the new stand is completely sealed with the floor finish. When we build uber high-end cabinets and furniture at work, we will vacuum press any panels that get a laminate... I still wouldn't trust it for moisture rejection. We still coat those with the same satin floor finish.

Great start so far! I also have an Elos (MIDI though) and love their build quality. Unfortunately, like yours, my tank was also lit by an AI prime and as my MP10 created waves, water actually trickled down the back of my tank once it came into contact with the bracket that holds the arm onto the tank. Since my stand was on carpet, it soaked the carpet and ruined my stand. So I am now having to build a new stand. Wish their build quality was consistent with their stands. I will be following along, and soon set my MIDI back up as well!
