I have some fish in qt rn with ich or velvet and my blenny is acting up he was limp on the bottom but then started thrashing and went limp again I checked I didn't see any ich or velvet on him I'm afraid that he might've gotten stabbed by my foxface I stuck him in a net at the top of the tank over the airstone that way he gets plenty of air and flow and can't thrash around and hurt himself what do I do pls help #reefsquad

Do you see any puncture marks that might be from the fox face? Another possibility is the blenny could be having trouble breathing if parasites are attacking the gills.

I didn't notice any parasites on him
I did see a spot that may or may not have been a puncture wound tho
I don't want to look tho don't want to disturb him unless nessicary

Did you use any malachite green? Just curious. I had a lawnmower blenny that I treated with it in combination and went absolutely crazy jumping and banging then died.
I hope he recovers . Good to separate for a bit and get good oxygenation. Since foxface and blennies could go after similar algae, the foxface could have gotten him. My Kole tang used to chase my blenny.

Just stuck one of those ammonia badges in, will report later
Have started with copper but I put some rock bits in that have been absorbing it, waiting for a response in another thread whether I can use algae scrubber pads
Gonna try bringing it back down temporarily as well as most of the fish haven't been eating

He died

I'm kinda worried about the other fish tho about 1/3 water change (bit less) and the amonia is still present, also the foxface and Gramma fish don't look too happy
What do I do
It'll take a while to make new water

do not use prime with copper unless you know what you are doing!!! prime will increase the coppers toxicity to lethal levels. It can be used with very specific copper additives but unless you are 100% positive it’s a recipe for disaster.

You could go get water from a fish store, or another fishkeeper, or at worst a grocery store.

How high is the ammonia, and what is the tank size? Ammonia can kill fish, so that needs remedied.

I agree not to mix any water conditioners with copper.
