Hello guys.

I just got back into this hobby after leaving it for 8 years. I was in the middle east where i had 20 gallons, and very limited supplies, and resources, and now im in the US where i have unlimited resources, and supplies.

I bought a marine x60.2 comes with a sump. https://waterboxaquariums.com/products/marine-x this is my tank.

I just want you guys to determine if the equipment i picked is good to get started, like i mentioned im completely a beginner.

1-Light AI prime https://waterboxaquariums.com/produ...UqzS0efHxO-RhZ7dm17SpDESEQQKQXV0aAikPEALw_wcB is that light enough for sps corals?

2-Sand https://waterboxaquariums.com/products/caribsea-arag-alive-substrates?variant=39661462356158

The thing i love water box is they have the rock specially made for a specific tank size with different shapes

3-Rocks https://waterboxaquariums.com/products/waterbox-liferock-aquascaping-bundle?variant=37632934248638

4-Skimmer https://waterboxaquariums.com/products/quantum-120 Im not sure if it's enough or not.

5- wave maker https://waterboxaquariums.com/products/nero-5 Im not positively sure if thats the wave maker i want or if its too powerful.

6-return pump I need a recommendation i heard the one that comes with it, not really good in terms of sound, and performance.

What else do i need to get this going? What else people put in their sump? what kind of media etc? thank you.

I’d look into dr Tim’s bottle bacteria to cycle or a similar product. Also wouldn’t add any media at first… maybe just use the socks and skimmer for a while until you need to add a fuge or something.

Why don't you get all the equipment the same so it's under one app like ecotech mobius app. Mp10. Vectra return radion light. Etc... and all easily controlled from one good app.

The tank is ~24”, so I would recommend something stronger for SPS corals. Anything that is 90 watts or above will do for most corals. Some good lights are Ecotech Marine Radion XR15 Pro, AI Hydra 32HD, Kessil A360x Tuna Blue, , and Reefi LED uno. For SPS, I would recommend something that is blankets the tank with light, such as the Philips Coralcare, ATI Straton, Orphek Atlantik or Neptune Sky.
I would recommend a sand with larger particles. SPS need higher flow, and this flow will move the sand around.
Carbsea rock, along with most other artificial rock, is not that porous. I would recommend Marco Rocks. Although they are not as porous as live rock from the ocean, they are the most porous rock on the market currently. Also, I would recommend getting a little bit of rock or sand from a friend‘s tank to seed your tank. You could use bacteria in a bottle, it doesn’t have as many strains of beneficial bacteria and critters as established rock or sand.
4-Skimmer https://waterboxaquariums.com/products/quantum-120 Im not sure if it's enough or not.
Nyos skimmers are good, but I would use a skimmer with a controllable (DC) pump, as they have more control options. Reef Octopus and Deltec both have great DC protein skimmers, but if you have money to throw away, then you could get a Royal Exclusiv skimmer.

A Nero 5 would be OK, but then your corals would be blown to just one side. I would recommend 2 Nero 3s or 2 MP10s placed on the back wall or each side of the tank.

6-return pump I need a recommendation i heard the one that comes with it, not really good in terms of sound, and performance.
If you want a quiet pump, I would choose a DC option. Ecotech Vectra, Reef Octopus, VarioS, and Neptune COR are all good pumps. Remember that you should choose a return pump that pumps around 10x your tank size.

Since rock sold these days are not that porous, you should put some biological filter medias in your sump, such as Chemipure ceramic media. For carbon, I would recommend ROX 0.8 from BRS. Because you want to keep SPS, you would need a dosing pump to replenish calcium and alkalinity. For a dosing pump, I would recommend the GHL 2.1.
