ESHOPPS Mariner 70 Build

It's officially official: the melanurus has passed. He did come out of the sand one more time that I saw - he was coming out after dark and then going back in during lights on. This morning I found what was left of his body being consumed by some of the hermits in the tank.

Well it seems like he had a long and happy life. It's unfortunate but that's life.

Sorry Tim .

Sorry for your loss

Sorry, not reef related (weird, huh?).

I printed some dessicant boxes for the AMS filament box and ordered some new dessicant beads.

Dessicant should be here tomorrow.

Also planning a trip to @Fish Styx favorite glue establishment to see what they have in the way of storage containers for the filament.

Ok, reef related content now (sort of). I went to Petco on Thursday and they had a Hoeven's wrasse (that's the name for people that don't know they're really called melanurus wrasses) that was about a 2" female. I didn't buy her.

Yesterday, I went to Kona and they had a Black Angler fish. I didn't buy him.

BUT today I started designing and printing yesterday for the vertical Maxspect XF330 gyre.

Similar to mine. Which desiccant did you get?

Ok, got the design dialed in. I'll start printing tonight here shortly.

Now to work on the redesign of the horizontal mount hanger.

Those plastic stand up cereal containers is something I have seen that are cheap and work. I never used but only heard. Make sure to measure.

That's what a lot of people use. I've got around 20 rolls of filament but only 12 vacuum bags.

I have given serious thought to using these too. However, they do take up a bit more space and I'm not so sure I want to start rearranging my system. I may end up retoolling my system to accomodate these though.

I have to reprint the vertical mount - the hanger snapped off when removing the supports.

I need to figure out a rubber that is reef safe to add to the back so it doesn't just sit there and wobble on the glass.

TPU is reef safe.
