Hey guys!

Wondering who has had experience keeping a yellow coris wrasse? What is their temperament like and what size tank would you recommend for one? Has anyone seen any aggression from the YCW?

Thanks!!

Very few reports of Yellow Wrasse aggression (it's actually a member of the Halichoeres Family) and many success stories with it. It is considered one of the best members of the family to add to the tank.

I’ve been hearing good things but my only hold back is that my tank is 32 gallons.. might be too small for one:( what do you guys think?

I love my “banana” fish
Basically feeds itself all day in my 200g
I’ll see it occasionally pick at an sps polyp on accident but I have also seen it “groom” my other fish as well

I have two in my tank. My recommendation is put them all in there at once (if you are going to have more than one YCW). I put one in a month after the first one and they fought the first 30 min until I turned the lights out. In the morning they were all buddy buddy. I haven't observed any aggression since. No fish on fish or fish on invert. Only fish on pest.

Mine don't pick at SPS unless there's a bug to be had! My tank is SPS dominant.

I think that's a bit small of a tank. Mine grew from 2 inches to 4 inches in a year. They are very active swimmers. By limiting it, it may jump

I have 4 in a 80 gallon without any serve problems. However - one of them sometimes bullying my possum wrasse.

Sincerely Lasse

I had my banana for couple of months already and he is a model citizen. Pecking at the rocks all day until I come by with their daily meals. I have not seen him bother any other fish.

Always like the yellow coris wrasse. No aggression, slept under the trachyphyllia and grazed all day. Never an issue with coral at all. My wife came home to find the fish on the floor so I would not advise keeping one without a top. Your tank might be a little cramped as I noticed ours was a very active fish.

I've gone one in my 220g. Model citizen, spends all day coasting around hunting for pods.

They are wonderful additions to most reefs and more peaceful than most halichoeres wrasse. One of my favorite wrasse particularly based on temperament. They are very hardy as well.
