Solon fairy wrasse, Cirrhilabrus solorensis; rainbow of colors, peaceful and interesting. Does grow up to 5" which would be a drawback for a smaller tank of course.

Might find this article helpful: http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-01/hcs3/

So many to choose from and if you are not "stuck on" a flasher/fairy might want to consider a Radiant, Halichoeres iridis.

I love my male Paracheilinus carpenteri. Super close to the mccoskers that @Dolelo96 said. Even when he plays 'have a heart attack' when I walk near the tank sometimes. He's always watching me and super active all over the tank. Flashes up to the clowns at feeding time to let them know whats up.

Do you have a net/lid on your tank? Pretty sure most are known to jump. My lid has saved my couple wrasse at least a couple times from ending on the floor.

Eats everything.

He's my favorite that I have.

One I don't have: Lineatus Fairy Wrasse

Also the ones with diamond tails are pretty cool and different.

+1 on the lid. I lost my Sleeper goby, because I left the room after cleaning the tank and forgot to put the lid back on :(

Thanks everyone for suggestions so far! I do have a tightly secured net on my tank along with a sand bed. I was looking at fairy and flasher wrasses because I just had to get a marble wrasse out of my tank because he was trying to kill everyone. I was looking at the Hawaiian flame wrasse and the lineatus. I was looking at the McCosker wrasse too just trying to decide. I’m looking for peaceful above everything else.

How big is your tank, and what fishes are in it.
There are so many nice flasher and fairy. It is hard to come up with a favorite.
The follow are a few of my nicer, more brilliant colors ones:

Tank is a 5’ long Red Sea reefer 625 so about 130 gallon display. Current stock list is a blue tang, yellow tang, magnificent rabbit fish, pearly jawfish, spotted mandarin, bicolor blenny, and helfrichi fire fish. A long with another wrasse I would like to get a pair of clowns and maybe a Midas blenny

You really don’t want just one flasher or fairy wrasse. For best flashing you really want several. You most likely want to get two or three Flasher wrasses. A Diamond Tail Flasher is one of the most beautiful wrasse there is. They don’t come cheap. Other than that two common flasher like a Blue Flasher, McCosker, Yellowfin
Regarding Fairy wrasses. There are a lot of choices. Pintail, Exquisites Lubbock are all good colorful and docile wrasses to keep.

So went to my LFS today an talked to the owner who I’m good friends with. His supplier was having a sale on pin tail fairy wrasses and he said he’d sell to me for just cost so I decided to go with the one for now :)

I'm a bit biased.. But definitely Paracheilinus hemitaeniatus.

Amazing fish for sure. The fish pictured is probably the nicest one in the ocean however. None that I've seen look anywhere close to that. Still love mine, though. Awesome fish either way.
