Hello everyone! I know this isn’t considered nuisance algae but I figured this would be the best forum to post in. I have these maroon colored feather dusters spreading throughout my tank. They don’t seem to irritate my corals (yet) but they do grow fast and are taking up real estate where I would like to place corals. I have been manually removing them but they quickly grow back within a week or two. Does anyone have experience with these and any successful treatments aside from regular manual removal? Picture attached. Thanks!

I think you should start selling that. If it is feather dusters, it’s a testimony to a healthy mature tank.

Can you get a close up with white light? I think it is attractive.

The fact that you say it grows fast makes me think this is a seaweed or a sponge, not a feather duster.

Can’t see much with all the blue light. Would need pics under white light but I’m guessing these probably aren’t feather dusters and might be hydroids or something else.

I believe you are right about the hydroids. Will try to upload a better pic
