Feature Request for Gyre Flow Pumps

All the talk about flow today has me going back to what I would love to do with my Profilux. I want to create longer duration gyre flows using a 0-10V output.

I was able to do a little of what I wanted using a lighting channel but there weren't enough programming points to make it work. My dream option would be to be able to replicate this more often.

Desired programming points would be Ramp up/down time, Time at Max/Min, Max speed %, Min speed %, Night time reduction %, and then an invert and/or offset feature (for controlling pumps on opposite side of the tank).
Ideally I'd like to be able to go from Min to Max and back to Min in around an hour.

Is this something that may be doable in the future? Or is there some way available now that I haven't figured out that would get me close?

I have an older gyre that was given to me. It really moves water but I can hear it from the other room. Does anyone know if this is just standard for the pump, or is it just in need of some loving rebuild?

Gyres are noisy.

Yep the old Gyres are noisy, but the new 300 series is completely silent.

You could get a maxspect gyre:)

The new Maxspect F350s (the larger one) are basically silent.

I just purchased a new unopened box gyre from a Local reefer because I figured I would save some cash by not purchasing the new model. Well it is loud as my cat in heat and I wish I would have spent the extra dollars! I set mine at 50% and threw it on the middle of the back wall and it cuts down on noise a bit.

OH - when you said profilux I thought that was a different kind of gyre. you can program that with your Gyre controller

Have you been cleaning it regularly as they recommend? (Which with the old models is a pain) - it might need a little cleaning. My F280 was quiet and then got more noisy. So I replaced with the F350 - very impressed so far.

No, the Profilux is a controller. The controller that comes from Maxspect can't run the flow profile I would like. it would do okay if I only had 2 pumps, but I can't sync all 4.

OH - I see - with the new models at least (I'm not sure about the older ones) - you can link them to an app on your phone - which then has multiple patterns that you can use to sync a number of pumps (at least 2 pumps)at a time. The 2 F350's on my 5 foot tank at anything more than 50 percent is way way too much flow. literally blowing large LPS across the bottom of the tank (the pumps are at the top on opposite sides). I believe that the pattern you wanted is one of the pre-set options

It does look like the new controllers could do what I want, but that would be a $1k upgrade as opposed to what should just be a fairly simple software change.

I also like that I can turn them off when I put my tank in maintenance mode and that if I forget to restart them, they do automatically after 1.5 hours. Being able to push one button on a touch screen to make my system go from running to ready for a water change is a very nice feature that I would lose even with the new controllers.

@Brew12 Here is a link to the blog describing what you need - it also works with the F200 models - the firmware just needs to be upgraded. Then you need the Syna-g App downloaded on your phone - and you need to be certain the firmware on your Gyres are > version 2.0. Double check the exact model you have - as im not sure 'all' gyres are usable with this. You then need the IVC-6 module its like 49.99
