Tips on feeding for large RBTA? Frequency and best types of foods? How to prepare and feed?

If you have the typical modern lighting fixture you should only have to feed bi-monthly (I rarely feed mine). Personally I do not like silver sides, but small pieces of raw seafood like fish, shrimp, scallops, all you can buy at the local grocery store.

Lots of people do not feed their bubble tips. Other people feed them two or three times a week. People feed them various food. As Tahoe mentioned any type of fresh sea food cut into small pieces is fine. They do grow faster and split more when fed regularly.

Personally I like silver sides, I cut them up into small 1cm cubes and feed them. The growth rate is better. I've personally never fed them anything but ss and mysis shrimp and they're good. I want to try other stuff. When I do I'll post the results

Fellow reefer gave me some freeze dried Krill and it seems to like them after I let them soak in some water for a bit. Have also heard positives and negatives on SS. They also get some mysis when I feed the rest of the tank.

One of the issue with SS is that the product may have been frozen and thawed and re-frozen, this might be the basis for possible bacterial contamination. Not a lot of long term anemone keepers feed them any longer.

Great picture. I figured it's getting some of the stuff floating, but also thought good to spot feed.

Sounds like the sweet spot might be just that... some fresh seafood once a month or so.

Hi , nice Nem .... I feed all of mine once a week, just a cut piece of a raw uncooked [emoji494]. Lighting should suffice though if good enough .....
