First ever aquascape....is it terrible like my brain says????

This is my first time ever building an aquascape and was not I wondering if I could get opinions on it? It's going in a 25 gallon lagoon so I tried to keep it more of a wide scape than a tall one. Thanks!

No, it’s not terrible. It’s totally fine. There are unlimited possibilities for how to aqua scape. Just create something you like with enough hiding spaces for the fish you plan to keep. Fish love caves and nooks and crannies.

Looks great! I had a pair of 25-gallon lagoons and I think this will work really well for your tank. You have lots of hiding spots for fish and real estate for corals.

Thanks so much! I can't wait to see it full of life! I've been dreaming of doing this for 10 years and finally have the money to make it happen! I have no artistic skills though so I've been worried about my scape lol

I had 8 or so small fish in each of my lagoons, and the footprint of the 25 lagoon is closer to that of a 35 or 40 (just lacking the height).

Some suggestions that could work well: pictus or midas blenny, watchman goby, royal gramma, any dottyback, flame hawkfish, talbot or sapphire devil damsel, banggai cardinal, etc.

Mine is literally a long pile of rocks down the middle but my fish love it because there's a cave that runs the whole length of the rocks. As also said, once it's got corals all over it will look great.

I appreciate it, that was most important to me. I wanted to make my fish feel safe and give them a good home more than anything. I appreciate the suggestions too! I'm thinking I want to start with a couple of clowns and a watchman goby/ pistol shrimp pair. Am I really able to add any more fish than that without it being too much?

If you perform regular water changes, have a good mix of cleanup crew and upgrade your filtration (I ran one sock that I changed weekly plus the InTank caddy with floss, ChemiPure Blue and bio media) - you can have 6-8 small fish. A skimmer will also help at some point (look at the IceCap - not the IM).

I think it looks great. Minimalistic. Will leave plenty of open space for contrasting sand. The openness will allow for easy flow solutions. Slight curve to the structure is pleasing to the eye. Will look perfect, especially after it's covered in your favorite colorful corals.

Yeah I was wondering if I would need a skimmer eventually and which would be the best so thanks for that because I'm struggling being completely new haha

I didn't want a bulky structure because I felt a lagoon tank should have a longer slender scape to compliment it, ya know? Thanks a lot!

I was expecting a super ugly aquascape. Clicked on the thread and think the scape is pretty nice. It took me over a month to build my aquascape and I still sort of hate it

If you are not in a rush you may want to lit the aquascape sit around so you have ample opportunity to change it around completely in the weeks ahead!
